This WOC letterbox was placed 10/15/02 by fIsh and day Z.
Shenandoah National Park
White Oak Canyon Trail
Rappahannock County, VA

This journey begins on Skyline Drive at mile 42.6 near Skyland.  This is the parks most popular hike, boasting 6 waterfalls, a must-do for first time visitors.  The trail is 5.3 miles one way (the letterbox is approximately half the way down) but can be done as a 7.3 mile circuit when joined with the Cedar Run trail.

FIsh and I come to the park every year on the second weekend in October to celebrate fIsh's B'Day.  It's one of our favorite hiking spots (100's to choose from).  We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Here's your clues:

You're decent downhill will be pretty good
but stead fast till you pass two bridges of steel and wood.
If you come across a horse tie, you're on the right track
And by the time you reach the viewpoint, you're too close to turn back
Down a bit further, a staircase is there
But don't you go down it! At the top, left you will veer
Under an overturned tree that parallels the stairs
If you look real careful, you'll find me there
But I'm not in plain view, I'm hidden you see
You'll have to move a few rocks, if you want to find me
